Following the development of the Small Building National Diploma in Building Control Surveying in 2007, the qualification package has been completed with the development of the Medium and Large Building qualification.
But before it goes to NZQA for registration there is one important question to be answered…. What do you think of it?
We would like you to take five minutes to let us know what you think of what has been developed. Firstly look at what has been produced and then tell us what you think by completing the one minute feedback form.

1. The qualification overview document.

This shows the Building Control specific content of the Medium and Large Buildings National Diploma package.
2. The component unit standards
The building definitions and scenarios.
This lists scenarios for 'small buildings' and 'medium and large buildings'.
The component unit standard details.
The unit standard documents have an introductory page followed by the registered text, the information for candidates and the judgment statements for assessors,
3. The qualification details

This document includes the industry specific units shown in the overview document but also the wider construction sector unit options used in the training of Quantity Surveyors, Construction Managers and Architectural Technologists.

Particular questions we require your feedback are concerning generic knowledge of the legal system as it pertains to local government in New Zealand. Unit standards in the qualification at present cover 22698 - building control legislation and requirements, and 24161 - processes for issuing certificates and notices under the Building Act 2004.
Is 19420 titled - Demonstrate knowledge of the legal system as it pertains to local government in New Zealand ‘nice to have’ or a ‘must have’ - tell us what you think.
