Goal:

Develop a role for Drinking Water Assessors newly established by legislation, contract training providers, up skill a minimum of 30 Health Protection Officers to competent in the role and manage quality assurance.

Achievement:

Successful end to end management of a new, complex and politically sensitive project.

Summary:

This project was to manage a succession of contracts between the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation and the Ministry of Health to provide training for Health Protection Officers enabling them to take on the new role of Drinking Water Assessors created by a change in legislation.
The project had two distinct parts:
1.    Develop Competency based assessments for the skills and knowledge required by Drinking water Assessors and register a national qualification relating to the role. This project ran between October 2000 and September 2001. This stage was completed while working as Qualifications and Quality Assurance Manager of the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation.
2.    Contract a provider to develop and deliver training, oversee resources development, course delivery and assessment. This project ran between September 2001 and December 2003. This stage of the project was completed as an independent contractor to the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation
